April 5, 1949 — nr. Los Alamos, NM — Huge Green Fireball Near Los Alamos

10:00 p.m. A huge green fireball with a red afterglow is seen streaking approximately 300 feet above the southern slope of Fejarito Mountain, near Los Alamos, New Mexico. It disappears behind the mountain. Another fireball is seen at 11:00 p.m., and the next two nights. [Eberhart]
