December 12-15, 1957 — Sea of Japan / Misawa AFB
5:45 p.m. At least 13 witnesses see a bright light over the Sea of Japan. The object is tracked on radar and seen through binoculars. At 7:22 p.m., a scramble is ordered and two F-86D’s take off from Misawa Air Base, Japan. Multiple radar and visual sightings take place over the next three days. [Eberhart]
