July 23, 1952 — Nahant Coast Guard Station, MA — Two Bluish Disc-Shaped Objects Seen By Coast Guard Seaman

July 23, 1952 — Nahant Coast Guard Station, MA
2:15 a.m. Seaman Henry J. Arnpriester is on watch at Nahant (Massachusetts) Coast Guard Station [now closed] when he sees two bluish lights approximately 5 feet in diameter. They appear as flat, disc-shaped objects having no aerodynamic features and move without sound or exhaust trail at a speed faster than a four-engine airliner at an altitude of 1,100 to 2,000 feet. When they are approximately 1.5 miles from the point of observation, they execute an extremely sharp turn similar to the path of a ball bouncing off a wall. [Eberhart]
