12:05 p.m. Robert J. Madden, Steve Herrmann, and Karl Herrmann see a thin object, apparently 3 feet in diameter, that hovers and flutters above Canyon Ferry, Montana (20 miles east of Helena), rising and descending. It heads northeast at tremendous speed at about 3,000 feet. [Eberhart]
