June 20, 1958 — Fort Bragg, NC
11:05 p.m. US Army Sgt. A. Parsley notices an unusual object from a point one mile north of the Army hospital at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The light-silver object is circular and the apparent size of the full moon (which is below the horizon). Its lower section is surrounded by a thin greenish haze. He has it in view for 10 minutes. It is hovering at first, then begins a slight oscillating motion and speeds away due north. [Eberhart]
