June 4, 1955 — Melville Sound, Nunavut, Canada
A Boeing RB-47 reconnaissance aircraft of the Air Force Special Security Service (air arm of NSA?) tracks an unknown object visually and by radar for 9 minutes near Melville Sound, Nunavut, Canada. The crew chief describes it as “glistening silver metallic.” The crew obtains gun camera film, but of poor quality. The object speeds off to the north. [Eberhart]
