Afternoon. Lt. Col. Edward J. Stealy, commander of the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Keflavík Airfield, Iceland, and 1stLt. Joseph Burt see 10–15 flying objects, 60–70 feet in diameter, at about 25,000 feet. They fly in loose formation for about 4–5 seconds and are traveling at a tremendous rate of speed (perhaps 1,150 mph). [Eberhart]
