September 26, 1954 - Altoona, PA
9:04 p.m. Capt. Picune and the crew of United Airlines DC-6 Flight 606, flying at 19,000 feet with a ground speed of 382 mph over Altoona, Pennsylvania, see a fire-colored object, flat on the bottom and rounded on top. The object approaches, flies parallel to the aircraft for about one minute, then pulls ahead at tremendous speed and disappears into the east.
