September 30, 1961 — Las Vegas, NV — Object Tracked and Observed For 45-Mins

September 30, 1961 — Las Vegas, NV
At around 9:04 a.m., a weather observer at Indian Springs Air Force Base, Nevada, sights objects through a 20-power theodolite at 133.4 degrees azimuth and 55 degrees elevation. The observer first sees one object, white or metallic in color, round in shape, and the size of a pinhead. Suddenly, four smaller objects shoot out from the first, traveling very fast.

At the same time, the 865th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron at Las Vegas Air Force Station tracks an unknown target on radar, 45 miles southeast of Nellis Air Force Base. It is picked up on the azimuth scope only and remains tracked for approximately 45 minutes.
