Hi
I like to present the idea for interstellar travel.
The concept is similar to Carl sagan’s Orion project. But with lasers that will laser guided onto a small craft with a heat shield with laser pusher plate
Currently the laser weapons that are capable of targeting and incinerating warheads travelling quickly.
The similar concept it applied tracking the heat shield laser pusher plate of a craft.
These laser systems use as much power similar to how much a space station uses.
With that said.. (aside from being a rediculously expensive project.) it could test the limits of space travel and future missions.
Would require many space stations orbiting earth. And many solar arrays and rockets capable of re-energizing space stations.
All space stations would orbit evenly spaced around earth.
The lasers will continue to sustain a craft to orbit earth. And keep accelerating
The craft itself will not have much fuel. As this craft is designed for light speed travel.
Having a craft orbit earth and space stations continuously providing the acceleration.
Currently we mostly use rocketry without getting to far to fast.
I suggest something faster. And shorter.
Rather than big. We could build small craft
We orbit the earth in a craft that is continuously being pushed by lasers from space stations.
The craft will orbit earth quickly and possibly hundreds of times quickly.
Until you are able to then aim the craft to escape velocity. Escaping our solar system at hopefully light speeds far exceeding anything humans attempted.
We could reach distant plac s quickly
We could reach the moon in A days time.
And if the moon has a space station with a laser. Then it could also slow down incoming craft via laser
I will drop a few sketches of the concept.
Orbital mechanics is not new to me anymore. I’m already thinking of methods that could be used by humans or other advanced life forms.
Also note that. Not much discussion in astronomy on the benefits of a system with two suns. Tgis would also increase greatly things like solar sail speeds and escape trajectories.
So I hope to illuminate here some possibilities what I come to learn and what I like to share.
I don’t believe rocketry is feasible for long space flight. And I believe we can do it better and safer and faster and get far more results. And explore systems faster.
I will be dropping some sketches soon here.
Thank you
Ryan
