July 19, 1962 — Off Bay Head, NJ
9:30 p.m. C. T. Loftus and H. Wilbert are fishing off Bay Head, New Jersey, when they see a star-like light moving faster than a jet. Soon three or more other lights appear, each from a different direction. Each light
stops momentarily, then darts away a great distance generally in a straight line, its luminosity increasing as it moves. One object that is moving from south to north zig-zags as it darts about, but returns to a straight path eventually. The lights soon fade out after 7–10 minutes. [Eberhart]
